Former world snooker champion Muhammad Asif has set a new record in snooker by winning the semi-finals of the Q School tournament and getting a tour card for two years. According to Express-News, the national player won the semi-finals of the Q School tournament in Thailand and got a tour card for two years. Muhammad Asif defeated compatriot Asjad Iqbal in the semi-finals to win a two-year professional snooker tour card and is the first Pakistani player to receive a professional card through Q School. World Snooker Tour President James Ferguson congratulated team manager Shoaib Arif on receiving Muhammad Asif's card over the phone.
Shoaib says that it is a great achievement of pro snooker and Pakistan that in the next two years Pakistani players will be seen in professional snooker competitions all over the world.

He added that there is still a tournament of Q School in Thailand which will start on June 7, there is another opportunity for 14 other players from Pakistan to get tour cards.
